Meet Designer Dr. L. Alexander

He is an international award-winning bespoke cake designer, food artist, author, and owner of Flour House Cakes & Co., based in Metro Detroit. Named a 2024 Ones to Watch by The Knot Wedding Magazine, this health scientist turned pastry chef is celebrated for his unique design style, impeccable details,

and diverse collection of decadent confections.


His extraordinary food and cake art have been published in magazines including EBONY, ESSENCE, PEOPLE, MunaLuchi Bride, The Knot, Wilton Cakes, Over the Moon, Black Bride, and more. His work has been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tamron Hall, Sherri Show, and MUNCHIES Food by VICE.

 

He is a Season One Winner on Disney's food art competition show, FOODTASTIC, and 2x winner on Cake Toppers, hosted by Buddy Valastro, on HULU.
